We’re Not Alone

It is common for conservatives to think we are alone. We are accustomed to the effrontery of the left and the erosion from within our own party. I have been very encouraged and excited about the reaction to Reclaim Conservatism. In the short time the site has been active we’ve had great posts and comments, and the readers have been very generous with their links.

Still, it’s good to know that there are others out there with similar goals. Patrick Ruffini, Jon Henke, and Soren Dayton have announced their new effort The Next Right. Here is a bit of Patrick’s introduction:

There is general consensus that the right is at an inflection point. We face a series of unsustainable trends: the aging of our voter base, an ideological cupboard seemingly bare of big ideas, and a leadership class that is at best spinning its wheels. I won’t sugarcoat it: the road ahead could be disastrous.

At the same time, we have advantages none of our forebears could have dreamed of. The ‘net, broadly defined as the breakdown of communications barriers based on status or geography, creates instant self-awareness of our problems and potential solutions. The right resources can be brought to bear in weeks and months, not years and decades as was often the case with past conservative journeys through the political wilderness.

There can’t be too many conservative voices working to advance conservative values, ideas and plans. Welcome!

Jim, we don’t have a party anymore, the GOP has gone so far to the left that it’s not even recognizable…

There are many of us out there, we just need to get everyone involved and active. This blog, The Grizzly Groundswell, The Next Right Conservablogs, and a few others are showing the way.
