“Yes” is the most important vote in Illinois this November
(Mailing list information, including unsubscription instructions, is located at the end of this message.)

All of you should know that on November 4th, Illinois citizens will have the opportunity to vote “Yes” on the Illinois Constitutional Convention question that WILL be on the ballot.
The 1970 Constitution is directly responsible for the current condition of Illinois and the poor quality of its leadership because the 1970 Constitution protects the political class from competition and oversight. The 1970 Constitution took power from the citizenry, and it is high time that the citizens took that power back.

A “Yes” vote offers the opportunity to improve Illinois through structural change in our patently awful Constitution. A “No” vote offers nothing save the status quo of corruption and looming bankruptcy.

We have 5 requests/tasks for you today.

  1. 1. Please don’t unsubscribe from this list! Over the next 8 weeks, we will be sending out important e-mails (but no more than 2 per week) on the convention issue. These will cover very important Illinois issues.

2.If you are undecided on a convention vote, please order our book (only $6.00 from our website) to understand why we argue that ONLY a convention can fix Illinois.
3. Please vote “Yes” on November 4th.
4.Please help “Yes” for Illinois with your donation, as we are a small (but growing) collection of David’s fighting a well-funded Goliath.
5.Please forward this e-mail to as many concerned Illinois citizens as possible and ask them to vote “Yes.”

Sincerely,

Bruno Behrend

PS – How do you feel about Senate President Emil (“some call it “pork”, I call it “steak”) Jones installing his son in his Senate seat instead of subjecting him to the primary process? If you believe that we can fix Illinois with out a “Yes” vote, consider that absent real reforms;
Mayor Daley will be Mayor-for-life
Mike Madigan installed his daughter as Attorney General
Bobbie Steele triple-dipped in the pension fund just before installing her son on her seat on the Cook County Board, and
Mayor Daley’s Machine installed Todd Stroger as the Cook County Board Chairman, and (drum roll please)
Republicans offer no solution because they are either too busy trying cut deals with Rod Blagojevich, or they are too timid to propose, and then campaign on, good ideas.

Voting “Yes” is the only way to fix Illinois, and every headline strengthens our argument. Please click this link
and help us fix Illinois.
