Ongoing terror in Mumbai

On November 28, 2008, in Uncategorized, by stix1972

There is still sporadic gun fire and explosions in Mumbai (Bombay).  This has been a well orchestrated attack and more information is coming out about the attacks.  3 Pakistanis were arrested and shed information on who has done the attack.  Lashkar-e-Tayiba are a terrorist group associated with Al Queda and have helped the Indian Mujahideeen, but carried out this attack themselves.

The terrorists have taken hostages in a Jewish center and at least 5 believed to be killed.  The terrorists also have attacked hospitals and train stations.

Here is a map of the area where the attacks occurred:

You can click here for a bigger map.

But in the face of danger and the chaos many have become heroes and saved many lives.  Staff from the Taj Majal Hotel saved many lives and stayed calm throughout and helped many escape the gunmen.

“The hotel staff has been very, very brave,” Mangeshikar said. “Hats off to them.”

As we go farther and farther from 9/11, we have become lulled into thinking the Islamo-Fascist threat is over. As we can see with the attacks on Mumbai, they are not beaten.  Hopefully this will shed light to all of us that the threat from the Islamo-Fascists is real and that they will stop at nothing until the whole world is Mislim.

What we do as a nation will have an impact on the rest of the world, and I hope that Obama  will have the fortitude and not give in the the Islamo-Fascists.  I know I do not agree with much with Obama, but I do know that he wants to do what isbestfor this country and the world, and with a little Hope, maybe he can be that President. Hopefully he will not follow Clinton’s footsteps and go after the Terrorists Jusdicially and will go after them Militarily. time will tell, but we must help Obama if he makes the right decision and critisize him if he makes the wrong decision.

This is a lesson on why Muslticulturalism does not work and should be banned.  We are a Melting Pot, not a nation of little communities.  Before Multiculturalism, Thanksgiving was not a problem and no one complained about the respect that the Native Americans and Pilgrims had and celebrated the prosperity of the Pilgrims after they gave up Communism.   They created a capitalist community and it grew and the peopleprospered after they tried a Communist style commune at first.   So the Pilgrims and the Native Americans had a celebration together.   But now that we have Multiculuralism, the country is Balkanizing and is at the forefront of a lot of the problems we have now.

This is not to say you should not respect and celebrate one’s culture.   We should all know where we came from and how we got here.   I know mygenealogy is from all over  the place but I am  50% Polish (with some Mongolian, because of Ghinges Khan and his pillaging of Poland) from my dad’s side of the family.  ON the other side I have German, Norwegian, Scotch Irish, and many others.  But to make that the central part of who I am iswriong.  I am an American first, no hyphenated-American.  And American.   My Hyphenated-American name would be a paragraph.

So this year we have people upset over the wearing of Pilgrim and Native American garb.   What is wrong with this, they are only respecting the day that the Pilgrims and the Native Americans had a celebration on the the overcoming of famine and disease by the Pilgrims.   This is outrageous, along with those that protestColumbus Day.

Claremont parents clash over kindergarten Thanksgiving costumes

By Seema Mehta
November 25, 2008

For decades, Claremont kindergartners have celebrated Thanksgiving by dressing up as pilgrims and Native Americans and sharing a feast. But on Tuesday, when the youngsters meet for their turkey and songs, they won’t be wearing their hand-made bonnets, headdresses and fringed vests.

Parents in this quiet university town are sharply divided over what these construction-paper symbols represent: A simple child’s depiction of the traditional (if not wholly accurate) tale of two factions setting aside their differences to give thanks over a shared meal? Or acartoonish stereotype that would never be allowed of other racial, ethnic or religious groups?— LA Slimes

WTF???  These are American Children celebrating the celebration of the Pilgrims success.

Proclamation Establishing Thanksgiving Day

On November 26, 2008, in Uncategorized, by stix1972

October 3, 1863

The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies.  To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God.  In the midst of a civil war of unequalled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union.  Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defence, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle, or the ship; the axe had enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore.  Population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege and the battle-field; and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years, with large increase of freedom.

No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things.  They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy.

It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and voice by the whole American people.  I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.   And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to his tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity and Union.

In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.

Done at the city of Washington, this third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the independence of the United States the eighty-eighth.

AWNAA

On November 26, 2008, in Uncategorized, by stix1972

Sorry for the past few days, had some things to do with the family. Family comes first before blogging.   And I got this via email, we can all use some laughs.

Washington , DC – Congress is considering sweeping legislation that
will provide new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No
Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislative goal by
advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or
ambition.

‘Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and
drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in
society,’ said California Senator Barbara Boxer. ‘We can no longer
stand by and allow People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed
over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to
grant special favors to a small group o f workers, simply because
they have some idea of what they are doing.’

In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Majority Leader Nancy
Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pointed to the success
of the U. S. Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of
providing opportunity without regard to performance. Approximately
74 percent of postal employees lack any job skills, making this
agency the single largest U. S. employer of Persons of Inability.

Private-sector industries with good records of non-discrimination
against the Inept include retail sales (72%), the airline industry
(68%), and home improvement ‘warehouse’ stores (65%). At the state
government level, the Department of Motor Vehicles also has an
excellent record of hiring Persons of Inability (63%).

Under the Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25 million
‘middle man’ positions will be created, with important-sounding
titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory
sense of purpose and performance.

Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given
so as to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable
employees. The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to
corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of
Inability into middle-management positions, and gives a tax credit
to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to hire one clueless
worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the AWNAA contains tough new measures to make it more
difficult to discriminate against the Non-abled , banning, for
example, discriminatory interview questions such as, ‘Do you have
any skills or experience that relate to this job?’

‘As a Non-abled person, I can’t be expected to keep up with people
who have something going for them,’ said Mary Lou Gertz , who lost
her position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint ,
Michigan , due to her inability to remember rightey tightey, lefty
loosey. ‘This new law should be real good for people like me,’ Gertz
added. With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other
untalented citizens will finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Said Senator Dick Durban (D-IL): ‘As a Senator with no abilities, I
believe the same privileges that elected officials enjoy ought to be
extended to every American with no abilities. It is our duty as
lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of
his or her adequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this
great nation and a good salary for doing so.’

Colmes to leave Hannity and Colmes

On November 24, 2008, in Uncategorized, by stix1972

Alan Colmes is going to leave the Hannity and Colmes show on Fox News.   I never agreed with Colmes on much, but he has always been one of my favorite Liberal Pundits.  I have note really watched Hannity and Colmes in a while, but he did a good job of getting the Liberal point if view across.  I am just wondering who they are going to put across from Hannity now????

H/T to Gateway Pundit

FOX News Channel’s (FNC) Alan Colmes will relinquish his role as co-host of Hannity & Colmes at the end of the year.

In announcing his decision, Colmes said, “I approached Bill Shine (FNC’s Senior Vice President of Programming) earlier this year about wanting to move on after 12 years to develop new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network. Although it’s bittersweet to leave one of the longest marriages on cable news, I’m proud that both Sean (Hannity) and I remained unharmed after sitting side by side, night after night for so many years.”—Breitbart

The Pirates are still at it

On November 20, 2008, in Uncategorized, by stix1972

The Pirates are still capturing ships.  They have captured 9 ships in 12days.

Somali pirates seize ninth vessel in 12 days

The battle with pirates operating off the coast of Somalia grew yesterday when raiders seized two more ships but lost one of their own in an uneven firefight with the Indian Navy. The International Maritime Bureau (IMB) described the situation yesterday as “out of control”.

The surge in hijackings came as Saudi Arabia confirmed that a ransom demand had been made for the freeing of the Sirius Star supertanker, seized at the weekend with her crew of 25 and a cargo of oil worth $100 million (£65 million).

Two more vessels – a Thai fishing boat with a crew of 16, and a bulk carrier, believed to be Greek, with an unknown number of people aboard – were seized by pirates in the Gulf of Aden yesterday, bringing the total to nine vessels in 12 days.–The Times
